Abstract

The author discusses BellSouth's plans for the evolution to B-ISDN (broadband integrated services digital network) and identifies the priority items necessary for the B-ISDN deployment. He describes broadband services, architectures, transition plans, and trial results within BellSouth. Some critical issues remaining to be resolved are also addressed.>
