Abstract
Due to ever increasing demands on the radio spectrum, the problem of how to efficiently use it, is becoming more complex. Radio noise, the curse of electrical civilisation, is in fact polluting and decreasing the utility of some segments of the radio spectrum today. Efficient use of the radio spectrum requires the application of technical processes. In determining the tasks, radio spectrum management can be defined as an attempt to employ orderly and scientific processes for the purpose of controlling the EM environment via use of frequency allocation, frequency assignment, frequency engineering and frequency monitoring functions. Because of the high utilisation of the radio frequency spectrum, it is no longer possible to comply with all the requests for allocation of interference free frequencies to individual services with conventional means and methods. Computer systems offer the means to store large amount of data in a readily retrievable form, to manipulate or change that data, to produce reports relating to all or part of the data stored and to perform analytical studies quickly and correctly. This article suggests an approach for automated frequency assignment using multilevel prediction to obtain the EMC in the battlefield.
