Abstract
Integration of the functional activities within a manufacturing oqanization can be addressed by focusing on objects that are of common interest. The object set that could be used to integrate the functions of product definition and production is the basis for the process plan. Computer assisted process planning (WP), the link between computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (W), is vital to function integration and the resultant benefits such as concurrent engineering and manufacturability analyses. An environment for CAPP development is explored.
