Abstract
The Ixodes (Afrixodes) OLDI group of ticks, as it currently recognized, consists of the species I. (A.) oldi, I. (A.) vanidicus and I. (A.) nchisiensis. We review these species and describe an additional 5 new species, viz., I. (A.) brewsterae, I. (A.) zairensis, I. (A.) macfarlanei, I. (A.) corwini, and I. (A.) catherinei. Distinctive characters of the I. (A.) oldi group are enumerated and a key is provided for males and females of the 8 species.
