Abstract

A brief description of the superconducting MHD-magnets and magnetic energy storage (SMES) constructions, their performances and experimental results are presented. Optimization of their weight-dimension characteristic are shown. Opportunities for "dual use" of such superconducting magnetic systems are considered.
