Heritage and Rural Tourism in Argentina: Exaltación de la Cruz, a case from Buenos Aires province countryside

The selection of certain elements, features, and subjects defines the term rurality. In Argentina, exists others subjects that belong to rural pampas and had been historically invisibilized. Hence, this article presents the case study of Ombuses neighborhood, a rural settlement that existed in the late nineteenth century in Exaltacion de la Cruz district, north of Buenos Aires province (Argentina). The aim is to discuss some ideas about rurality that were constructed in Argentina and how they are recreated in heritage and touristic processes. The information used in this article was obtained through semi- structured interviews and by the analysis of secondary sources and documents.
