Abstract
Toileting and personal care are vital activities of daily living for all people both in hospital and in the community. Everyone wishes to retain their dignity and remain independent or require as little assistance as possible. Appropriate equipment makes these tasks both safer and easier for clients and their carers. This article critically reviews and evaluates the various bathing and toileting equipment currently available for the elderly.
