Abstract

This research studied the effects of petroleum contaminated soil on the distribution of microbial community in the field experiment, investigated variety characteristics of microbial community in the presence of different vegetations and discussed the correlation of the petroleum hydrocarbon degradation speed in contaminated soil and microorganism dynamic changes. The results showed that: Petroleum contaminants had a significant stimulating effect on microorganism growth. When the initial concentration of petroleum hydrocarbon in soil was 10 000mg/kg, numbers of bacteria, fungus and actinomycetes had risen 1.3 times, 3.4 times and 1.2 times compared with the control after 45 days respectively; bacteria's number increased with pollutants concentration, especially oil-degrading microorganism's amount increased significantly. When the pollutants concentration was 50 000 mg/kg, microorganism growth was suppressed. Plant rhizosphere effect could increase microorganism amount by 1~2 orders of magnitude; the degradation rate of petroleum hydrocarbon was positively correlated with the amount of oildegrading microorganism in different periods. Microorganism was the subject of the bioremediation of petroleum contaminated soil.
