Abstract
The Russian power industry is on the way to radical structural and managerial reformations. The paper gives an overview of the present state of power industry restructuring in Russia. The current technical characteristics of the industry and main features of the new round of restructuring are described. New steps to electricity market development and the regulating system improvement are discussed. The restructuring policy in Russia may be useful for countries where industry is on the way of reforms
