Abstract
1. Dogs poisoned by subcutaneous injection of sodium cyanide can be saved by intravenous administration of p -aminopropiophenone, provided the dose of the poison is under 4 LD50's. 2. Potentiation of antidotal action against cyanide occurs when p -aminopropiophenone and sodium thiosulfate are successively injected by vein. The amount of sodium cyanide detoxified by this combination is about the same as that by sodium nitrite and sodium thiosulfate.
