Abstract
Abstract. A large Y-shaped Intersection usually has the triangular island inside. In order to improve the traffic capacity of the intersection without demolishing the triangular island, a large Y-shaped intersection secondary starting model was established based on a typical example, which also includes the relevant outcomes of the intersection signal design. By comparing the improved design to the original design via VISSIM, it seems that the proposed model in this paper achieved a favorable testing result as expected.
