Abstract

In this paper, an adaptive subband-notch-filter-based Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) cancelation method is developed. The use of a subband technique with a specific excision algorithm will relax the problem of multiple RFI sources. Doing so, the noise power is reduced and the second order Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) notch filter can be used instead of high order IIR filter. The performance of the proposed method is compared to the classical fullband method using the Steiglitz-McBride identification Method (SMM) based IIR Adaptive Notch Filter (ANF).
