This paper explores selected states health information exchanges in regards to how they are implemented and used. Health information exchanges are broken down and a concise background is given for a better understanding of how states are implementing their health information exchanges. This paper not only examines states use of their health information exchange, but how they will connect to create a nationwide health information network.
