Abstract

Hypnotist and subject often agree about the nature of hypnosis, yet the patient may find fearful the very hypnotic experience many hypnotherapists promote. A transcript of successful hypnotherapy for headache is presented, along with commentary regarding the development of mutually satisfying expectations of hypnosis during hypnotherapy through the precise definition of the hypnotic state.
