Abstract
Some problems existed in the design stages of new product development such as high cost, low efficiency, long developing period, ergonomic problem and so on. We can improve developing efficiency by using Computer Aided Industrial Design (CAID) technology and Computer Assistant Engineering (CAE) in product development. This research proposes Bottom-up design method to support industrial design for new product and develops industrial design function system structure. An example is given to show the process about concept design, form design, color design, layout design and ergonomics improving design.
