Abstract

Combined with synoptic charts and satellite cloud photographs, the cloud microphysical data of stratiform sampled with the airborne particle measurement system(PMS) and hygrothermoscope on 28 May 2007 in Jilin province have been used. The microphysical characteristics of cloud under a cold vortex synoptic process were analyzed. The vertical distributions of particle density, liquid water concentration and mean diameter included cloud droplets, ice crystals and raindrops in stratiform cloud were discussed. The two-dimensional particle images showed that the precipitation in cold clouds played a leading role. The spectrum of cloud particles in different layers existed significant differences between cloud layers and dry layer, and particle concentrations of the dry layer was far less than that in clouds.
