Abstract

Shape index, calculated as fruit length divided by fruit diameter.y Flesh percentage, measured as the length of the equatorial diameter occupied by flesh compared with the equatorial diameter.x Flesh firmness (N), measured twice in a cross-section of the flesh of the fruit with an 8-mm diameter probe at 0.3 mmÁs -1 (Instron Firmness Tester 5544; Instron Corporation, Canton, MA).*Significantly different from 'Piel de Sapo' using a Dunnet contrast with Type I error P # 0.05.
