Abstract
The thermal and fast neutron response of eight commercial dosimeter film types has been obtained by exposing the films to: (1) thermal neutrons from the Los Alamos Water Boiler Reactor, (2) 14.1-MeV neutrons from the Los Alamos Cockcroft-Walton accelerator, (3) 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8-MeV neutrons from the Los Alamos 7-MeV Van de Graaff accelerator, and (4) the fast neutron spectrum of the Sandia Pulsed Reactor. For all the fast neutron energies used the ratio of the neutron-ta-gamma-ray sensitivities of the films is roughly equal to the reciprocal of the ratio of the grain diameters of the films.
