Concurrent Validity Study of the Oasis Aptitude Survey

Abstract

The concurrent validity of the Occupational Aptitude Survey and Interest Schedule (OASIS) was investigated by correlating OASIS Aptitude Survey scores with General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB) scores for a sample of 59 rehabilitation clients referred for psychological evaluation. Canonical correlation analysis revealed four significant canonical variates and canonical correlations of .90, .76, .61, and .57. Zero-order correlations between the OASIS aptitude subtests and similar GATB subtests ranged from .68-.84. These results suggest that the concurrent validities of the OASIS scores with the GATB are generally acceptably high.
