Abstract

Abstract A position of the bright infrared source CRL 877 is determined as R.A. (1950.0)=6h5m22s±0.s8, Decl. (1950.0) = –6°22′30″ ± 10″. The source is close to a radio complex in the Mon R2 association, involving the compact radio source G213.7—12.6, OH and H2O masers, and molecular clouds. The infrared energy distribution of the source is very similar to that of the BN object in the Orion Nebula with a deep 10-μm depression.
