Abstract
Jar tests were carried out in the laboratory in India on the relative susceptibility of 6 newly developed varieties and a hybrid of sorghum to attack by Sitophilus oryzae (L.) (Calandra oryzae) and Rhyzopertha dominica (F.). The percentage of damaged grains 45 days after infestation showed that CSH5 and SPV4 were the most resistant to both pests. R. dominica was generally more injurious than S. oryzae.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:Laboratory tests with grains revealed that, of six varieties, CSH5 and SPV4 were the most resistant to infestation by Sitophilus oryzae and Rhyzopertha dominica; the latter species was generally the more injurious
