Abstract
Robust audio and wideband speech communication over unreliable channels of mobile and IP based networks is one of the key research areas in the development of multimedia communications. In this paper, a new perceptual coding scheme for both audio and wideband speech utilizing multiple descriptions coding technology is introduced. Tests and evaluations have shown that the designed audio and wideband speech coding algorithm is able to transmit high quality audio and wideband speech not only in ideal noiseless channels, but in packet loss prone channel as well, even the packet loss rate of transmission is higher than 30%.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
