Abstract
Technology itself doesn’t guarantee a success in financial performance. The fitness between technology strategy and corporate strategy ensures the successful deployment of a company’s technological capability and enhances the company’s financial performance. Based on an investigation on 121 Chinese technology-based firms through questionnaires and further data analysis, it reveals that corporate environment, top management team, technology resources, internal convergence ability of firms have a positive relation with the fitness between technology strategy and corporate strategy. Moreover, technology background, technology preference and the diversity of top management team are also proven to be the key factors.
