Parameter optimization of cutting process based on MATLAB

Abstract

At present, the majorities factories depend on the experience or the reference cutting specifications handbook in the production choose the cutting specifications, this often cannot achieve the cutting parameter optimal. Using the modern cutting theory, mathematics modeling and the model analysis method seek the cutting parameter the most superior combination, is cuts the parameter choice an important direction. Taken an example of optimization design for parameter of lathe cutting process, illustrated the application of optimization toolbox of MATLAB in mechanical optimization design. The math model of parameter of lathe cutting process was established according to the design request and the character and optimized for the least process cost. The optimal results show that by using the MAT LAB optimization toolbox to solve the question, the mechanical design efficiency can be improved because not only the arithmetic is reliable, but also the program designed is simple.
