Abstract
Abstract The little known Actinia striata (RIZZI, 1907) is described from the Eastern Mediterranean for the first time. After a thorough investigation of the relevant literature, taxonomy, ecology and distribution of A. striata and other related species of the genus Actinia are discussed. Further investigation on the status of Actinia striata seems to be necessary.
