Abstract
This paper describes the classification system, and gives a progress report on the work to fill in the details of the classification criteria As computer systems become more and more continuously integrated into the daily activities of business, engineering, and scientific users, there is increased interest in being able to evaluate and compare the dependability of these systems. Considerable research has been done in an effort to establish benchmark tests for this purpose (e.g., see [1-5]), usually based on some form of fault-injection testing focused on single computers [6,11]
