Abstract

The modified Bales-Wijngaarden seakeeping index has been used for the comparison of the seakeeping performance of diverse hulls. The hull shape family has been generated and seakeeping calculations conducted. The results of the calculations were transformed into modified Bales-Wijngaarden index form. The influence of the hull geometry on the seakeeping index is presented in the form of a three dimensional diagram as well as multiple regression equations.
