Abstract
The problem of sensor fault detection for the delta operator formulated discrete time system is studied, which is transformed to actuator fault detection. The design method of delta operator fault detection is presented in terms of detection filter approach. When the sampling period is very small, the delta operator-based fault detection will approach the corresponding results for continuous time systems. The related problems of fault detection for the continuous-time systems and the discrete-time systems can be considered in the unified delta operator framework. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
