Abstract

In this paper, a trellis coded balanced space-time block code selection scheme (TC/BSTBCS) which is obtained by using balanced space-time block code selection (BSTBCS) with super-orthogonal space-time trellis coding (SOSTTC) is proposed for wireless communication. As a result of using the transmission matrices of BSTBCS - instead of Alamouti code in SOSTTC - at states of trellis structures with various types, various trellis structures are obtained. The performances of trellis structures which are obtained by coding gain distance (CGD) analysis for BPSK modulation are investigated with computer simulations. It is observed that the diversity advantages from BSTBCS is superior than CGD criterion.
