Abstract
The de Haas-van Alphen effect has been measured in the intermetallic compound BiIn 2 by the torque method in magnetic fields up to 22 kG. A frequency branch has been observed in each of the (1\bar210) and (1\bar100) planes. The free-electron model has been used to construct a Fermi surface, in both cases of the single- and double-zone schemes. The experimental results are interpreted in terms of the Fermi surface centered at K in the twelfth zone.
