Abstract

A photometric parameter r (01) is to study the 0 I feature at 777 1,7774,7775 in normal A- and F-type stars. It is shown that r (0 I) is temperature sensitive in A-type supergiants and luminosity sensitive in F-type supergiants. Using stars in galactic clusters, an absolute magnitude calibraflon is found for F-type supergiants. The behavior of r (0 I) in variable and peculiar stars is also discussed.
