Abstract

Abstract Twenty-four female patients with chronic renal failure maintained by regular hemodialysis have been studied, and a typical menstrual pattern has been demonstrated. Eleven such patients were treated for hypermenorrhea. Progestin-estrogen medications were found to be of use, although dilatation and curettage, irradiation, and hysterectomy were necessary in some patients. The implications of these results are discussed.
