Musical instruments of indonesia: An introductory handbook

This publication was originally intended as a handbook for the exhibition of Indonesian musical instruments held at Melbourne, in August, 1985 by the Indonesian Arts Society in association with the Department of Music, Monash University. This exhibition included a live performance by Mr. Poedijono and students of Monash University on its largest exhibit — a Central Javanese gamelan (percussion)orchestra. The exhibition was timed to coincide with the Ninth National Conference of the Musicological Society of Australia and the Asean Interaction program of the Australian New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science.
