Nutrient Uptake of Alfalfa as Influenced by Soil Processing and Greenhouse Potting Methods

G. A. Peterson

Open publisher page 4 citations

Abstract

Abstract Uptake of P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu, Fe, and Mn by alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.) was studied as affected by soil processing and potting methods. Aggregate destruction resulted in increased uptake of all nutrients except K and Cu. Air‐drying of soils prior to potting decreased the uptake of P. There was no significant interaction or processing and potting methods with soil horizon being studied.
