Abstract

High field magnetization measurement on the S = 1/2 quasi one-dimensional Ising-like antiferromagnet CsCoCl3 for H⊥c has been performed under the pulsed magnetic field up to 65 T. We have succeeded in observing the non-linear increase of the magnetization characteristic of the S = 1/2 1D Ising-like antiferromagnet in the transverse field, and the transition from the Néel to the ferromagnetic phase at Hc = 60.3 T. We also have performed high frequency ESR measurements to observe the paramagnetic resonance. The experimental results are discussed in connection with the recent theory.
