Abstract
A high radioiodine uptake in the presence of a normal PBI, 24 hr after discontinuing antithyroid drug treatment in patients with Graves' disease, should not necessarily be interpreted to be a sign of gland autonomy. It is shown that identical findings can occur in normal subjects incorrectly treated with antithyroid drugs. The combination of these findings might be explained easily as the consequence of TSH overstimulation.
