Abstract

Abstract Summary: PCL/chitosan blend nanofibres could provide an excellent nanostructured material for biomedical use since their beneficial properties are combined into one material. This paper focuses on the solvent use in the production of PCL/chitosan nanofibres by solution electrospinning, since this is a crucial parameter in the electrospinning process. It was established that an acetic acid/formic acid shows great potential for the stable electrospinning of the blend. Additionally, the fibre morphology using this solvent system was analysed.
