Abstract

A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study of trans-(PPh2Me)2Ni(σ-C6F5)(σ-C6Cl5)(R= 4·91%) shows the nickel–pentachlorophenyl distance of 1·905 ± 0·010 Å to be significantly (5·4σ) shorter than the nickel–pentafluorophenyl distance of 1·978 ± 0·009 Å.
