Empirical Research on Relationship between Logistics and Economic Growth

Abstract

Logistics play an important role in china economy. This paper discusses the relationship between regional logistic industry and regional economy. We use cross-section data and the multivariate regression. The data in this paper comes from CHINA STATISTICAL YEARBOOK 2009. Provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities are research sample. We find that geographical position play an important role in logistic industry. Logistic added value mostly depends on value of the second industry and value of tertiary industry. According to our study, quality of regional logistic industry is poor. Regional economic development will pull logistic development.
