Abstract

Legacy networks are now in the process of migrating to new infrastructures that promise to deliver revolutionary services. This article covers the next generation of anytime/anywhere personal communication services, with an emphasis on Internet protocol (IP)-based multimedia subsystem (IMS)-aided infrastructure that relies on the session initiation protocol (SIP).
