Abstract
Industrial data for the ladle desulfurization of hot metal by the injection of granulated magnesium and a mixture of magnesium with fluidized lime powder are analyzed. The utilization of magnesium for desulfurization is similar for both methods. Lime has no significant influence on the efficiency of desulfurization but increases the losses of hot metal with the ladle slag.
