SUMMARYMeiotic studies of interspecific and intraspecific hydrids of Gossypium herbaceum and Gossypium arboreum with reference to the occurrence of univalents, multivalents and pollen sterility are described. It is concluded that the pollen sterility in inter-specific hybrids is greater than in intra-specific hybrids and that the two species are cytologically differentiated by a single translocation difference.
