For pt. I see abstr. A12257 of 1969. A discussion of surface spin waves in anisotropic Heisenberg ferromagnets is given in the case where the interactions of the spins on the surface with other spins differs from the bulk spin interactions. It is shown that optical surface spin waves exist which lie above the bulk spin wave modes but the anisotropy has the effect of reducing the range of wave vectors over which they exist (as compared with the isotropic case).
