Abstract

The kinetics of UO 3 dissolution in nitric acid saturated 30 vol % TBP in a hydrocarbon diluent was studied. In the temperature interval 18–40°C, UO 3 powders fully dissolve in the organic solvent within 5–20 min. The dissolution is satisfactorily described by the contracting sphere equation.
