Abstract
This research offers information on the experience and educational backgrounds of serials workers and the amount of time per title utilized for serials processing functions as determined by onsite investigations of forty-eight libraries on nine major university campuses in 1975. In addition to leading to more intelligent staffing for serials processing, the data should be useful as a partial basis for budget requests, the future development of library staffing standards, and additional research in this important, but neglected, field.
