Abstract

SummaryThe Neonatology Section of Pediatrics was established in the Women's Hospital in Doha in November, 1975. There has been a rapid improvement in the health services in Qatar since 1982. The success of this programme is illustrated by a steady decline in perinatal mortality in the country. This paper describes briefly the development of neonatology in Qatar and its achievements.
