Abstract

(1) After ureterolysis for retroperitoneal fibrosis we recommend wrapping the ureter up in a sheath of great omentum. (2) This technique prevented the return of fibrosis around the ureter in 11 of 12 ureters: in the 12th the fibrous tissue recurred just where the omentum had not been made to cover the ureter.
