Open publisher page 2 citations

Abstract

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute, ETSI, has been working on a possible standardization scenario for broadband satellite multimedia systems, on request from the European Union (EU). In phase one, ETSI performed a survey of proposed future systems, while in phase two a report on future standardization scenarios has been prepared. The phase two report covers current activities both within and external to ETSI, and recommends subjects for further work. The paper, based on the ETSI report but also including more recent developments, presents an overview of standardization activities related to broadband satellite systems. (8 pages)
