Research on Modes of Railway-Oriented Multimodal Transport Virtual Enterprise

With the development of IT and high-speed railway, the key factors that are required for the establishment of a railway-oriented multimodal transportation virtual enterprise have gradually taken shape. Hence, not only can they consolidate the leading position of railway in the comprehensive transportation of China but also conform to the strategy of sustainable development of green environmental protection and low carbon transportation. In a multimodal transportation virtual enterprise, there are two kinds of railway-oriented models used separately: the railway-oriented transportation enterprise and taking the railway logistics center as its core. By analyzing the characteristics of the two models, this paper further points out some problems in the railway-oriented multimodal transportation virtual enterprise such as its connection, management, transportation organization, and freight rate, that are in need of resolution through the coordination of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and relevant management departments. Therefore, the railway-oriented multimodal transportation virtual enterprise can provide a new idea for the virtuous development of multimodal transportation and the rationalization of international freight transportation.
