Calculations of the stopping power for and the range of electrons have been performed at energies from 20 eV to 10 keV for several elements and water. The treatment is a modified application of the statistical procedure presented by Lindhard and Scharff for heavy charged particles. Inner shell and Z 1 3 corrections are taken into account. The calculated results are in good agreement with experimentally determined data above about 200 eV for light substances.
